The Ukrainian Saffron is a family-owned and operated business. Founded in Ukraine and headquartered in Connecticut, the vision was born to two sisters, Oksana and Iryna, whose journey of immigrating from Ukraine to Connecticut inspired them to bring the unique, high-nutrient, and high-quality spice to your kitchen.
Ukrainian Saffron is grown on our small family farm in a village in Ukraine. Ukraine has one of the richest soils in the world, known as black soil. It contains a high percentage of humus, a dark organic material that forms from decomposed plants and animal material, high levels of phosphorus, ammonia, and high moisture. This makes Ukrainian soil the perfect starting ground for growing almost anything.
We harvest and dry our saffron the old-fashioned way. As the sun rises, every thread is picked by hand to guarantee maximum flavor and potency. Thus, Ukrainian Saffron is delivered straight from our farm to your kitchen.
